I was enormous. I know it, and I can admit that now.
Looking back at my old pictures makes me cringe. I still feel that old anxiety and self-defeat when I look back.
I am telling this story because I can relate to all who look like I did and can feel the pain and embarrassment of their old pictures. I know how this feels because I felt it too.
About 2 decades ago the weight started piling on.
During this time I was a busy mom of two and even though it is an excuse, I stopped taking care of myself.
As a mom and a wife, I bet many know how that feels. You become angry and resentful (even though we hate to admit it) because everyone and everything in your world comes first.
Here is my quick success story. My goal is for my readers to find hope and encouragement...because if I can do it...you can too!
At first, I didn't notice much except my energy level was up. That alone was amazing since I felt dumpy and tired all the time.
But, as the days went by, I started to notice my favorite jeans felt more comfortable. Most women know that when you have worn your jeans a few days they fit great!
I always hate to wash them, because out of the wash they feel tight again...But this time...they felt lose and comfy as soon as I slipped them on. I had just washed them! I couldn't help it, I ran to the scale when I realized what might be happening.
SURE ENOUGH!!! I was down 7!
As I stood in front of the mirror, feeling a little shocked, I couldn't help but feel grateful for what I had discovered. It had not only helped me physically, but it had also given me a newfound confidence and appreciation for my body.
I no longer compared myself to others or worried about my size. Doing this every day boosted my self esteem. I wasn't going to quit on this...It was so simple, and it works!
